Sponsorship

The IMSC Sponsorship Program

IMSC's Sponsorship Program is designed to seek out and engage the best multimedia and Internet specialists in industry and match them with IMSC researchers to create technical innovations that meet mutual interests.

IMSC has developed the following sponsorship levels for industry participation:

Senior Sponsor

Senior Sponsors have direct input into and help define IMSC research that targets Senior Sponsor's interests, business goals and objectives. A Senior Sponsor receives immediate paid-up, worldwide license to use intellectual property (IP) developed under their sponsorship in its field of interest. Senior Sponsors have three representatives on IMSC's Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), and a dedicated Company Day for company executives and managers to meet with IMSC researchers. They also have access to IMSC students for both internships and graduation employment recruitment, and opportunities for personnel exchanges.

The Senior Sponsor commitment is a minimum of $250,000 per year for a three-year term.

Sponsor

Sponsors specify a directed research project for their sponsorship commitment, developed in collaboration with an IMSC investigator. Sponsors are provided an exclusive option to negotiate licenses to the intellectual property developed under their directed research projects, and have attendant priority licensing benefits. They also have access to IMSC's general research results, papers and reports. Senior Sponsors have two representatives on the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), and a dedicated Company Day, as well as access to IMSC students.

Sponsors commit a minimum of $100,000 for sponsorship. At least $50,000 of the total must be unrestricted cash, and the balance is used to budget their directed research project.

Special Sponsor

Special Sponsors have priority access to IMSC's general research results, and advance licensing benefits. They have one representative on the Scientific Advisory Board. They also have early access to all of IMSC's research papers and reports, access to IMSC students for both internships and graduation employment recruitment, and opportunities for personnel exchanges.

Special Sponsors commit a minimum of $50,000, of which at least $25,000 must be in cash for unrestricted research. The balance can be in-kind services and support and/or equipment.

Technology Sponsor

The Technology Sponsor designation is aimed towards companies with technologies of particular interest to IMSC's vision, with value-added contributions obtained and provided by both parties, and with which a special relationship is mutually beneficial. Technology Sponsors are geared towards a specific IMSC research project and have no representation on the Scientific Advisory Board.
