Saty Raghavachary is a senior graphics software developer at DreamWorks Feature Animation. He was the Technical Lead Developer for DreamWorks' first animated feature, 'The Prince of Egypt'. He has subsequently written software used in 'The Road to El Dorado', 'Spirit', 'Sinbad' and most recently, 'Shark Tale'.

Saty teaches Maya (MEL) programming and RenderMan at The Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, and the CS480 class (Introduction to computer graphics) at USC. He recently published 'Rendering for Beginners: Image synthesis using RenderMan'.
Prior to DreamWorks, Saty was the Software Manager in charge of software for TV commercials and live action visual effects at MetroLight Studios, which was one of the pioneers in the world of computer-generated imagery.
Saty did his graduate research work in computer graphics at The Ohio State University, and has experience writing a variety of graphics, animation and effects software for over 15 years. He regards computer graphics both as a career and a fun hobby.

He, his wife Sharon, 16-month-old twins Becky and Josh and fuzzy Dusty kitty make their home in La Crescenta, CA.
