| Mission Statement |
The primary goals of the IMSC Student Council and Assembly are to educate and recruit new students, facilitate interactions between students and IMSC faculty and staff, and to promote student research in the center.
We propose to facilitate student interaction with staff and faculty by inviting IMSC researchers to speak regularly at Assembly meetings, creating a committee to regularly update the faculty research section of the Assembly's web site, and establishing regular meetings between the Student Council and the Director of the Center.
The IMSC Student Assembly annually elects a committee of student officers to serve on the IMSC Student Council. It includes representatives from the regular undergraduate and graduate student bodies as well as members from the specialized retraining and Multimedia University Academy programs. IMSC established the Student Council to provide a formal communication channel between the students and the Center faculty / administrations so that the students can voice education-and research-related ideas and concerns. The Council organizes activities to recruit students and to integrate them into all aspects of IMSC Center life. The Associate Director for Students Affairs serves as an advisor to the Student Council.
The goal of Student Affairs within IMSC has been to ensure that the undergraduate and graduate students gain valuable skills, enjoy their tenure with us, and acquire a unique perspective for the future of integrated media systems. We strive to create a unique academic experience that combines the interdisciplinary research, education, and corporate program located within IMSC.
