Involvement

There are many ways to get involved with the Integrated Media Systems Center whether formally through the various degree programs or research or informally through participation at IMSC Student Council events. All degrees of involvement are welcome.

Education and Research

The Integrated Media Systems Center offers degree programs for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Undergraduate Major

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Integrated Media Systems)
This program will expose students to the creative-technology side of multimedia in addition to the technical background acquired through the Electrical Engineering curiculum. In this program, students will complete the normal requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with the following technical electives: EE241, EE434L, EE469, EE483, CSCI351, EE/CSCI 450, and CSCI 480. In addition students will need to take two of the following design classes: EE 402, 438L, 444L, 447L, 448, 454L, 459L, 477L, 478L, and 479L. For more information on requirements, consult an EE advisor.

Minors

Minor in Interactive Multimedia
Develop the skills and knowledge necessary to apply and develop interactive multimedia tools within a variety of industries. This minor is intended for non-engineering students. While the minor does require computer literacy, it is designed to accomodate those with little technical background.

Minor in Multimedia and Creative Technologies
This minor is available to students majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Computer Science, and other engineering majors with sufficient background for the courses. Compared to the interactive media minor, this minor has an increased emphasis on the the technical side of multimedia and the technologies behind it. However, the technical parts of the minor are balanced with artistic courses to provide engineers with both the technical and artistic know-how to succeed in today's multimedia industry.
