Industry Day 2003
The Attendees
Our speakers and attendees are at this event because they are enthusiastic about USC engineers. Be sure to absorb the knowledge and experience that they eagerly bring to this event, and feel free to communicate with them throughout the event.

Darren Shou, Program Manager, Symantec Corporation
A USC graduate and former Microsoft intern, currently at Symantec, will be talking about his journey through college, employment, and discuss how to get the most out of a technology-driven career path. Mr. Shou is an excellent candidate to speak to all engineers, since he once was a USC engineer doing research at IMSC under the Merit Research Program.

Gerard Medioni, Professor, Computer Science Department Chair, and Geometrix
Dr. Medioni, a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is a multifaceted individual. Donning the cap of the Computer Science Department Chair here at USC as well as being an active professor in the same department, he is able to reflect on a wide array of experience, including several research projects, one of which is within IMSC. In addition, he has corporate experience with Geometrix, a company focusing on rapid facial-recognition.

Richard Walker, President, Efficient Technologies
Speaking from direct experience, Richard Walker will discuss several aspects to employment within engineering. You will hear of his background, his company, and the most important lessons that he has learned after his own graduation.

Dean Wadsworth, Scientist, ERC Inc. at Edwards Air Force Base
A member of the engineering scientific community, Dean Wadsworth joins us from Edwards Air Force Base. Among other benefits, ERC, Inc. offers research to the Base in a number of areas. Mr. Wadsworth will be happy to answer your questions related to his position at ERC, discuss projects at IMSC that may overlap some projects of his own, and finally offer additional information related to internships.
