IMSC Director Cyrus Shahabi gave a talk at the "Business of IP Asia" forum at Hong-Kong. Cyrus presented the challenges with IP transfer from Universities to startups and discussed the ClearPath startup as an example.
IMSC’s recent startup ClearPath will showcase its next-generation navigation system to key industry leaders at the Connected Car Expo's FASTPITCH competition. ClearPath is selected as one of the eight finalist start-ups that have emerged as clear front-runners among many.
IMSC hosted a group of executives and engineers from Samsung, Korea, to present USC's Big Data related research activities and to discuss potential collaboration in Big Data field between USC and Samsung. Dr. Geoffrey Long (Technical Director of AIL), Dr. Carl Kesselman (Director of Center for Medical Informatics), Dr. Don Paul (Executive Director of Energy Institute), Dr. Cesar Blanco (Head of R&D, Alfred E. Mann Institute), and Dr. Cyrus Shahabi (Director of IMSC) presented their activities and achievements in Big Data research. Q & A session was followed after presentations.
